Update!

Well, if anyone has been following only this blog and not my Facebook, they would think that we got lost in New Orleans and fell off the grid. Ha! Well, for those of you who may not know, Andrew and I made it to Georgia!

We've been doing a bit of sight-seeing, but mostly hanging out and looking for an apartment to stay at until we find something permanent....

Most of our time spent here has been with Uncle Jerry. He's given us a roof over our head and food to eat until we find our own place to stay. We can't thank him enough! He's been giving us a taste of what it's like to live off of the land. Andrew and I have been helping him out around his property catching fish; picking peas, berries, corn, and squash; shelling pecans -- and, of course, eating them all!

Wild berries growing on his property

Fish we caught from a pond nearby

Fresh from Jerry's garden

We shelled these and then baked them into brownies!

We've also been checking out the wildlife and such:

We used these Catalpa worms to catch fish

Found this fella' on the side of the road

Ponies on a nearby property

A moth that landed on our car tire!
